Trauma-Informed Care in the Classroom

Description:
Audience: Educators and academics of all levels, particularly of adults, young adults, and adolescents. Internship supervisors, trainers, and others in varying mentorship positions.
This training will review the pillars of Trauma-Informed Care and the process of healing, as they related to the academic setting. Participants will explore how trauma-informed care can be implemented in the classroom and general educational settings, both to promote wellness and to avoid potential triggers or re-traumatization, thus increasing positive educational outcomes.
- Review the principles of Trauma-Informed Care
- Understand how those principles can be implemented in the academic setting
- Develop supportive language and skills to respond during a disclosure
- Learn about PAAR services and local resources available to students
